The poll should read:

"Majority of people living in Northern Cyprus"...I doubt only TC's voted in that poll.

oh come on sk!

what? the opinions of the settlers from Turkey not matter much?

with whose votes did the TC's leader got voted in?

who does the GC's leader deal with?

all this 'Turkey is holding back the TCs while the innocent GCs are trying to patch things up with their Turkish brothers' rings a bit hollow.

i mean, if there is a settlement you will have to count those settlers as part of Cyprus, will you not?

no offense.

I repeat, the title says "Majority of TC's", and I corrected you.

The poll does not necessarily express the views of a majority of Turkish Cypriots, but a majority of people living in the north.

As for questions on Cyprus, yes, I do believe that the TC's voice is far more important than those shipped over by the Turkish state to settle the abandoned Greek villages.

Do you believe Jewish settlers in the West bank are representative of the views of the Palestinians?

OK sk so the TCs didn't suffer much because of the actions of GCs.

If you GCs think you are going to only count the 110,000 and have a 9 to 1 advantage on the island, you are having a greekturkish/laugh.gif.

But if you guys go back to the 1960's and return to a similar situation where it is 70-30, then that is more just.

It doesn't matter anyways, whether GCs like it or not they are dealing with the representatives of both settlers and the TCs.

Regarding the Palestine example = apples and oranges.

Besides TCs approved the Annan Plan, GCs didn't it.

Not Turkey.

North Cyprus is not too dissimilar to the West Bank, both areas were occupied by military means and the occupying force set up a system to settle the occupied land to change the demographic in order to entrench their claims to that land.

As for settler's voices in Cyprus, yes, the GC's will have to deal with this issue. However, at the moment, the settlers are the TC's problem, and you seem to discount TC's complaining about them......
