I feel so sad for those Kurdish girls.

they were probably forced to commit suicide by their parents. I dont buy this 'they thought it was the easiest way' BS, anyone with half a brain knows theirs easier ways to commit suicide than burn yourself.

That's true. Who the hell burns herself for commiting suicide?

I'm sorry for these girls,but its a serious problem in South East. Democracy and Human rights-> Not just for Men.

This is tragic...

Burning yourself is a very common way to kill oneself in Iran and amongst Iranian peoples.
This is a crime.
Under the Iraqi penal code there is no law against honor killing. And honor (less) killers are legally protected. Only in Kurdistan is it a crime.
Interestingly, the law against pressurised suicide was passed because after honor killing was banned, many girls 'killed themselves' under mysterious circumstances.
Anyhow, I am glad they have changed the law in Kurdistan to allow those pressuring girls into killing themselves to be punished. I hope that it is enacted.

One Buddhist monk very highly trained in using meditation to suppress pain does not make burning alive an easy death, it is probably the worst way to die, which is why in history it was reserved for the more horrible crimes considered to be high sins, such as witchcraft and gross heresy.

By the way, people put to death at the stake (in England) used to 'bribe' the executioner to place a small bag containing gunpowder around their neck, so that it would explode and end their suffering as soon as possible. Refusal of the gunpowder was considered especially cruel.

Good points. The English used to also bribe the headsman to make sure the axe was sharpened before the beheading. Usually the axe was blunt and the head was essentially pinched off by several blows.

I think you have missed my point here people. Turrkan stated that there are easier ways to commit suicide. I’m merely making the point that pouring gasoline on yourself and setting yourself alight is very easy to do. How many people suffer fuel burns per year? I’m still waiting to hear from Turrkan on this.

I will admit that the monk story and pictures were my sick attempt to have George prove me wrong and jump off a cliff or roof top.

I have no doubt that this is a horrible way to die.

The most tragic part is researches say honour killings are supported by women in the family.

If you get a knife and slit youre wrists properley, you will be dead pretty soon and you will pass out even sooner.

This movie made me cry a lot,it's about honour killing.
