As far as the title is concerned it was a product of my thought it might be controversial in a way but it reflects the different perceptions of the Kurdish issue by different groups of people, in a way everybody thinks he is right therefore it was a kind of rhetoric question and of course im genuinely interested at the topic otherwise i wouldnt have opened it in the first place.

The group that i refered as guerillas may be recognized as a terrorist organization and i have never put into question this fact but there are some people who do not see it in this way there is a saying what you see as a terrorist may be the fighter of freedom for another group of people , i used the term guerillas because i wanted to be as neutral as i can and since we have to deal with 2 different groups of people here ,and not only one (Turks and Kurds) it wouldnt be so nice to on my behalf to use the term
'terrorist" because this might have discouraged the participation of the Kurdish members and my role here was to encourage conversation and not the opposite , however there is something that you conviniently forgot to mention, the fact that i condemned the acts of violence of the Kurdish guerillas by saying that "we should never forget those Turks who lost their lives because of the murderous activities of the guerillas"So before you criticize what i say maybe you should take some time to discover the real meaning and my genuine intentions hidden behind what i say.

Let me start it off for you and reiterate : There is no discrimination towards Kurds in Turkey. SE region and Kurds get plenty of funding from the Turkish government. PKK is the root of the problem as it stands today and makes it very difficult for further progress to take place. Kurdish leaders should renounce and condemn PKK to take advantage of their representation in the Parliament and EU’s pressure on Turkey.

thats your own opinion and im glad to hear it, of course i dont live in Turkey and i dont know the real conditions of life of the Kurdish minority thats why i opened this thread in the first place in order to hear different opinions and judge the validity of those opinions later on.

Kurds were under greater oppression than they are currently -----> the PKK was formed as a political party, with Maoist and Marxist communist ideology -----> a war against the Turkish Republic was declared after the political party was banned ------> the war has lasted for decades, 6 000 Kurdish villages have been razed/burned/deserted because of the Turkish military operations and efforts to contain the guerrilla's resources and support -----> Turkish military continued it's efforts to ethnically cleans the Kurdish culture and identity from the Kurdish lands (and has been successfull in some areas of Kurdishland), methods used, included raping Kurdish girls/women to destroy society from within. By raping them the girls were deprived their pride, honour and many committed suicide because of it - and those who didn't were either murdered by their own or deported to places where, according to the Turkish state, they would be "safe from their families" -----> all journalists, writers and other intellectuals who ever mentioned "Kurd" or anybody who ever tried to asses that he/she was "Kurdish" was imprisoned to be tortured if lucky - and murdered through torture if unlucky ------> the efforts by non-PKK Kurds to insert themselves in todays politics and to bring change - much needed change - have been hindered by the Turkish state which doesn't trust any Kurd or any Kurdish party even if they say they're not PKK-sympathizers - and thus it's all came to a halt - since the PKK's ceasefire ended years ago -----> little progress was made when the EU pressured the Turkish state to allow Kurdish education in private sector - but only for adults (over 18) - and allowed for Kurdish to be used in broadcasting - but not cartoons or other programs aimed at Kurdish children - because that might "brainwash" them into actually believing they are Kurdish...
