The "tehcir", let's call it, results in the deaths of min. 460,000 [Ottoman records] to a max. 1,000,000 [Armenian claim] of life lost. What he says is: Turkey should be able to apologize for these deaths regardless of what we end up calling it, and regardless of what led to it.

We might get to a point where the Armenian State, some Armenian civil organizations, grandsons of the the then gang members etc... will issue an apology.

Also, the killings of Turks are mostly by Armenian "gangs", and in some cases, by appointed Armenian generals under the brief French rule. Many of the massacres, it is true, are extremely brutal, but the numbers do not add up to millions.

What gives tehcir a special status is that it is organized by the then-ruling government, Ittihat & Terakki. Nobody is making any case based on killings by "gangs", be it Armenian or Turkish.
