| Sexually assaulting horse Southampton, EN (UK) Incident Date: Tuesday, Jul 15, 2003 Disposition: Convicted Defendant/Suspect: Tuncay Ozcan A cook spotted carrying out a sex act on a pony ran home without his clothes — then rang police to say he’d been mugged, a court heard yesterday. Married Tuncay Ozcan, 24, was caught by a dog walker who returned to his car and switched on the lights — to see the pervert pleasuring himself with one hand while assaulting the pony with the other. Startled Ozcan fled in panic, leaving behind a pile of clothing. It included a jacket containing his wallet and identification. He arrived home wearing only green boxer shorts and told his shocked wife he had been attacked. To back up his story, he rang 999 and claimed three men had demanded money as he returned from a nightclub. Prosecutor Richard Wilcox said: "In order to be able to get away more quickly he said he had taken off all his clothes and run home." Disbelieving officers linked him to his crime through DNA -*test*-('")s. And yesterday a court heard the night of shame had humiliated him and wrecked his marriage. Ozcan, who works in a fish and chip shop, struck on common ground on which horses are grazed in Southampton. He hung his head in shame as the city's Crown Court heard the three-year-old Welsh pony called Rose was good natured before that attack, but was now "nervous and skittish". Mr Wilcox then described how the dog walker was "extremely shocked" when he turned on his lights and saw Ozcan. Mr Wilcox said: "Rose was tightly tethered to a tree with only two feet of slack. Standing at the back of the horse was Ozcan wearing only a pair of green boxers. "Ozcan then took flight and ran off over the grass field leading to nearby tower blocks. "The witness noticed a pile of clothes on the ground at the back of the horse. He flagged down a police car. In an abandoned jacket was a wallet with identification belonging to Ozcan. Simultaneously police took a call from Ozcan saying he had been attacked." David Jenkins, defending, said Ozcan had become "close" to horses during his Turkish upbringing and liked to ride them in the field. Mr Jenkins added: "These matters are highly embarrassing. "As a result his marriage has broken down. He apologizes and says it won't happen again." Ozcan admitted outraging public decency and was given a 12-month community rehabilitation order. Judge David L Griffiths told him: "I still do not know why you behaved in this way. Obviously drink played its part but there may well be, indeed probably is, some underlying problem." |

| Bestiality trial overshadowed by judge's animal sex video The chief judge of the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals suspended a long-awaited obscenity trial over which he was presiding after a newspaper reported he had posted sexually explicit photographs and videos on his own website. Judge Alex Kozinski granted a joint prosecution and defence motion to suspend the trial after the prosecution said it needed time to look into the issue. The jury was ordered to return on Monday. "I'm not going to say anything. The trial is ongoing," Kozinski said in response to a reporter's question as he left. Earlier, as the jury was hearing opening statements in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom, the Los Angeles Times reported on its website that Kozinski had posted sexual material on his website and then blocked access to the site after being interviewed about it. Kozinski, 57, was reported to have posted a photograph of nude women on all fours painted to look like cows, while a video on the site showed a semi-naked man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal. The Times reported that Kozinski had blocked access to the site after being made aware that it could be viewed by the public. He was quoted by the Times as saying he did not believe any of the images on the site qualified as obscene. "Is it prurient? I don't know what to tell you," he said. "I think it's odd and interesting. It's part of life." Kozinski is widely viewed as a champion of free speech who once led a successful legal bid to remove filters that blocked access to internet pornography on computers used by 9th Circuit staff. Kozinski is hearing the trial of Ira Isaacs, a Los Angeles-based filmmaker accused of selling criminally obscene sexual fetish videos depicting bestiality and defecation. Isaccs, 57, faces up to 20 years in jail and fines of $US1 million ($1.06 million) if convicted on multiple counts of importing or transporting obscene material for sale or distribution. Prosecutors say Isaacs sold three films - Gang Bang Horse Pony Sex Game, Mako's First Time Scat and Hollywood Scat Amateurs No 7, between May 2004 and October 2006. "These movies are not considered to be typical or ordinary pornography or consensual sex between adults," US Department of Justice attorney Kenneth Whitted told a jury. The films were "vile, perverted and profane to such an extent they are outside your community standards". Defence lawyer Roger Jon Diamond said in his opening statement that the films being peddled by Isaacs were "offensive and shocking". "They are disgusting, I would say, to most people," Diamond said. But Isaacs was a "shock artist" who would -*test*-('")ify to the artistic merits of the films. Jurors spent hours at the Pasadena offices of the 9th Circuit watching videos of bestiality and extreme fetishes which are evidence in the trial. Kozinski indicated to lawyers he would be willing to stand down but noted the trial had already begun and jurors had already seen two of the graphic movies. "My personal preference would be to walk away," the judge said. "But here we are, much is at stake. Jurors suffered through this afternoon." While neither side disputes the facts of the case, jurors will be asked to decide whether or not the films are obscene under federal law. Any film found to have serious "literary, scientific or artistic value" does not meet the federal standard of obscenity established by a 1973 Supreme Court ruling. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2008/06/12/1212863783995.html |
