How long are we going to have to put up with racist and derogatory remarks like Grik, Grek etc?


These aren't funny in any way. They originate from YouTube, were they are used in hate speech etc etc. These same terms are being used here in a degrading, racist manner.

Why don't we bring in the Gaymal and Turkgay terms to this forum too?

Grik and/or Grek is hardly as offensive as Gaymal and/or Turkgay.

Btw grek means greek and nothing more. I think you're referring to "geko" which is quite offensive. Furthermore, forumers here often use the term Grik not as a tool in hatespeech but in a context of endearment. There are instances of hateful remarks with said terms in use, but the moral imperative from your side to acknowledge "mongolian" or "savage" in the same example is prevalent as hell.

Or are you suggesting that Turkish forumers use potentially racist remarks more often than Greek forumers?

Excuse me but there are also racists like Niki who call a leader we respect fascist as well.

In fact he called all of us fascist and he is the only racist left in the forum now as far as I can see.

If we can live with it, I am sure you can too.

I'm pretty sure "Grik" has absolutely zero racist connotations.

It's how some Turks with heavy English accents pronounce the word when they're actually trying to say "Greek" and they don't extend the "e." And I guess it just caught on for some people to type like that as well...but it's not meant to be offensive. Just because something's said on YouTube doesn't mean it's automatically offensive. Having said that, 95% of YouTube when it comes to GR/TR videos is horseshit.

And sorry but the amount of flack the Turks receive on this board, whether it's in the form of outside articles, derogatory dialog from and between members and etc. is far greater than the Greek members.
