Nationalist - militarism, totalitarianism, populism, social interventionism, and economic planning

Conservative- traditional values, resistant to social change, limited welfare state, support for laissez-faire

Centre Right - liberal democracy, market economy, economic liberalism, private property rights, existence of the welfare state in some form

Centre Left - mixed economy, significant public sector, social liberalism, environmentalism, unmitigated support for welfare state

Socialist - social and economic interventionism, controlled market economy, nationalization, social reformist

Communist- egalitarian, classless society, centrally-planned economies, official atheism, collectivism

optimaton- 09-09-2008
btw Nationalist it means far right rather than any ref to patriotism

Anyway, the purpose of this poll is just a curio re indication of the political leanings of posters.

I consider myself Centre Right.

I reject voting in this poll as a post-structuralist anarcho syndicalist. greekturkish/oldboy.gif

Kayakiran- 09-09-2008
I also refuse to vote. I am a Liberteranist. None of the choices reflect my thinking.

What happened to other/explain?

I don't think I can fit myself anywhere in this spectrum. Given the lack of love for the poll, I guess many feel like this.

Knowing that they've been around for a long time, I still tend to consider the "center" right & left a bit gimmicky, more a result of "Median Voter Theorem"-ist politics.

The list above is nice 80s style thinking.

From what I see most people lost this left/right shit orientation and for ex. the german "Die Linke"(The left) achieves a lots of votes in the eastern sector of germany with anti-immigrant/anti-semitic propaganda mixed with anti-globalisation fears...still all that mixed with talks about "bad capitalism" and "modern socialism"
greekturkish/laugh.gif

Well,it works.

In greece we have the old style communistic party which still after 20 years did not recognised that there is no "working class" which works in the "greek industry" greekturkish/doh.gif and thus most greek leftist voters went to the new "leftistparty" sirisa which is just one more party in the style of the german "green party".."anti nationalistic","anti-capitalistic"(but not anti-globalisation!! greekturkish/Rolls.gif greekturkish/ladida.gif greekturkish/laugh.gif )and veeeeery "intellectual" greekturkish/faggot.gif ..
I am glad to see that finally there is a new "ecological party"(they even use this name) in greece which gets some 3-4 % votes. Was abot time.. greekturkish/Yes.gif
Well as for the rest...Pasok/ND right now pay the "normal price" for being in the gouvernments for the country/districts/big cities for years..the usual corruption shit.
And ofcourse the LAOS with the usual far rightists rantings which "solutions" would bring whole greece into a economical/political crisis never seen before in a few days...same like the communists/Sirisa.

I guess that we will see that the two big parties will loose votes for some years to come.
This is normal, but in the end the sane, responsible politicians of the big parties will be the ones who will keep the country on track..at least untill the next huge world wide crisis will bring the next problems to handle.

Geez, it was just an indicator poll, guys. greekturkish/doh.gif

Maybe the discriptions might be dated, but in the 21st century what other political movements are there now. The same political divides exist albeit defined per the individual's interpretation, but it still doesn't change that you will still get lumped with the generalisation that goes with it.

See what I mean?

This guy, who openly preaches his racism, spends half of his time here tossing his own morality upon others, has no understanding whatsoever of individual freedoms, identifies as a "bozkurt", doesn't want "his fathers rest in vain", thus clearly has a totally organic society in mind with morals coming waaaaay before individuality, also claims to be "center right to the bone" when it comes to self-identification.

All fuckin' gimmicks all this.
