Why all the fuss.

If you page takes eons to load up, go to my controls> board settings and choose not to view signatures and/or avators and/or any pictures posted on the forum.

By why should people have to do that, when its easier for others to show some consideration and not post large images in their sigs?

Fair call, this what I suggest.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3811

Does two things, allows you to replace photos with any of yours with one click, or you can block photos if they annoy you, block it once, and you will never see it again.

One of Mozilla's best plugins.

In saying that, not sure if most of you use Mozilla, if not, you should greekturkish/killa.gif

So instead of setting a consensus about not using provocative images you're suggesting people to ignore them. Did i get you right?

Read it again, this whole thread was about the size of signatures, not the content of them.

I was merely suggesting that IF some members find the signatures TOO BIG, there is a pluggin that will fix it, as well as save them not going over their quota in terms of download limits.

Thats all. greekturkish/Battered.gif

Same goes for the sizes too. Instead of setting a consensus about not using huge images you're suggesting people to ignore them. Did i get you right?

Yes, Im doing what is ment to be done in this subforum

Greek Turkish Forum Home -> The Main Categories -> Suggestions Forum

Im suggesting.

Now, since a mod of this forum is questioning it, I've looked around for formal rules and there are none. As a new member, Im not sure what the consensus is.

Will you care to lead me to rules about signature sizes? This is a forumer site, bandwidth is not an issue to the webmaster.

Ok my friend I will let you in on a few things about this forum. We are a pretty small community as you can see..we dont have heavy moderation.. except when there is personal attacks and outright racist comments.

There are no rules as such since most have been here for a while. Generally its the common sense approach that is applied.

if every one had a sig that 640x480 with 30 posts a page its not the bandwidth..however scrolling down through the posts would become tedious.

My opinion is that the wide signatures are ok..but pictures shouldnt be bigger than 320x240

Let me tell you the rule about signature image sizes.

1 - Put image in your signature
2 - Push preview button
3- And decide if it's suitable for people all around the world who may be using bad connections or VGA cards and monitors with low screen resolution or etc...

that's the spirit my friend. I don't think we need more than this. greekturkish/handshake2.gif

Just to add signatures and Avatars can be switched on on this forum using the My Controls section.

greekturkish/smile.gif

However, that's not an excuse for peopel to use huge sigs and ask peopel to switch them off.
