POLICE are concerned they may become victims of mob violence aimed against convicted pedophile Dennis Ferguson.

Queensland Police Union of Employees president Cameron Pope said officers guarding Ferguson were bearing the brunt of public anger against the convicted child molester.

Ferguson, 60, is being cared for by a church group on a property southeast of Brisbane at a cost to taxpayers of $1000 a day and supervised by police around the clock.

About 1000 people at a public forum in Carbrook, south of Brisbane, last night made it clear they did not want Ferguson in their community.

Mr Pope said police were at the property to ensure everyone obeyed the law.

"That includes Dennis Ferguson and that includes those who would want to start a lynch mob at the entrance to the premises where he is being housed," Mr Pope said today.

"Our concern is that police are being drawn into the middle of this and there is the possible escalation of violence which is not acceptable in this situation, or in any situation," Mr Pope said.

"Everyone has a right to voice their opinions but we would just ask for calmness in doing so."

Among the residents at last night's Carbrook meeting was off-duty Senior Constable Heather Steinberg, a police prosecutor and mother of two who lives with her family 9km from where Ferguson is housed.

Sen-Constable Steinberg told the meeting she was putting her job at risk by presenting a "Get rid of Ferguson" petition with 150 signatures to Queensland Police Minister Judy Spence.

The Queensland Police Service has said no disciplinary action would be taken against Sen-Constable Steinberg.

Mr Pope said she had as much right to voice her opinion as any other member of the public.

He said union members were unhappy about the release of Ferguson, freed last week by a judge who said he would not get a fair trial on new child sex charges.

He has already been run out of a community at Miles, in the state's south.

This week, a man from Munruben, south of Brisbane, has been charged with using a carriage service to threaten harm against Ferguson and another has been seen outside the Carbrook house waving a noose.

Never mind the crime this bastard committed, he now gets a roof over his head and food at tax payers expense. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!

A fair trial? What was fair when he molested kids?

Hopefully someone manages to get to him and slits his throat.

Yeah, great idea. Let the mob decide who gets a fair trial. Trials are held specifically for those suspected of doing, sometimes, horrible things. What gives you the right to deny this man his due rights?

Westy, I'm gonna have to agree with Zeus on this one. Anyone that molests children needs to be castrated. You're quick to cite due process of law and the rights of criminals but, sadly, these rights that you are ready to give these sick fucks end up being to their advantage so they can hurt innocent little kids again and perhaps even take their lives. What about the rights of the victims? I agree that due process is one of the inate rights a human has, but if pedos are proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt...exterminate them. greekturkish/oldboy.gif

The punishment itself I have no problem with. But no man, regardless of what type of shit he's managed to do in his useless existence, can be denied a fair trial. Just cannot. Sure, child molesters are among the most vile things out there, but let's not get carried away here and dismantle the principles our entire civilization is based on because you have a thirst for blood.

If he's found guilty and your law states that he must be castrated and raped twice a week for 55 years...so be it. But find him guilty first, beyond a reasonable doubt.

He has already been convicted of child molestation before. These are new charges he is facing for repeat offences.

And you think this perverted bastard deserves a fair trial?

Do you know what this guy did the first time?

He kidnapped three children from their HOME, raped them repeatedly over several days.
He was jailed for 14 years. The judge said he had "zero" chance of rehabilitation. How fucking right he was.

When he got out he got a job, selling some shit to SCHOOLS. He didn't tell the cops as he was required due to the potential contact with kids. Just over a year in jail for that.

Then he moved to a house around the corner from a CHILD CARE CENTRE.
But thankfully the public quickly found out and forced the bastard out of their community within 24 hours.

Then in 2005 he was charged with assaulting two girls, aged FOUR and FIVE.
It was then found out he was living with a 17year old run away girl.
He was released this month. And hence the pro-*test*-('")s against him.

This guy is one of the worst child molesters in Australia. People like him need a bullet between the eyes and nothing more.

Fuck the fair trials and his rights. He deserves neither. What was fair when he raped and abused all those kids? Did he think or give a shit about their rights?
