Eiffel Tower To Be Lit Up With Colors Of Turkish Flag

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 28.09.2009 - The Eiffel Tower, which has become a global icon of France, will be lit up with colors of Turkish flag between October 6 and 11 under the ongoing "Season of Turkey" activities in France.
Another major event under the "Season of Turkey" activities will be the opening of the exhibition "From Byzantium to Istanbul: The Port of Two Continents" on Friday, October 9 at the Grand Palais.

The exhibition will remain open for three months.

"Season of Turkey" activities began with a performance of the Anatolian Fire dance group in front of the Eiffel tower in July.

The Eiffel Tower, which is the tallest building in Paris and the second in France behind the Millau Viaduct, is one of the most visited monuments in the world with more than six million people ascending it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch for the 1889 World's Fair. (SOL-CE)
