So what exactly is your definition of propaganda, Turkkan?

In the early 90’s there was a Turkish restaurant in Melb I used to frequent now and again owned by a TC. It had a big map of Cyprus that included a historical time chart. But according to it the island’s history began with Richard the Lionhearted, followed by the Venetian, Ottoman and British periods. There was no mention of the island’s Greek history. When I first saw it I just shrugged my shoulders and thought to myself, “Well, it’s to be expected.” It didn’t offend me in anyway, since I did go back, but it showed me that the TC’s are allergic to mentioning of the word "Greek" up north re history. It’s actually an extension of what’s happening in the mainland.

It’s been posted in here before, that as long as the GC’s express their Hellenism they “alienate the TC’s” and there should be a permanent partition. YET it is fully acceptable— no! – indeed it is set in stone that the TC’s shall always express their Turkishness, as is seen on the name and flag.

Why don’t you take the first step, change the name of the TRNC to the RNC, as well as the flag. But you’re trying to hold the moral ground with hypocrisy. When it comes to censorship you are more proficient at it. When it comes to history you are more in denial. And you demand the GC’s rewrite the history of Cyprus, which you accuse of being propaganda?

This accusation of “Greek propaganda” is just a deflection from your own propaganda.

Greeks didnt reach Cyprus till about 1600 BC

I think the descendents of the Hunter Gatherers from 10,000 BC should campaign to get the island back from you invading barbarian animals.

The general goal of school in capitalist neo-liberal countries:

To keep assigning a value to people in the form of grades to give their role in society as students a value. This creates a precedent so in the future when they enter the workforce that their role in the economy(as members of society) can be assigned a monetary value. Generally the richest people in any society, use their positions as CEOs/large stockholders to siphon from the labor power of thousands of workers. The workers take home a meager salary or hourly rate or piecework, the top earns a gross of profit. This is where school comes in, in making people to accede to such a disgusting system under the myth of competing for equality in school. So if you expect school to be about actually informing people and teaching them to think for themselves you are mistaken. It is just propaganda of state and capitalist interests.

In Turkish schools(which also includes the TRNC which is also under the Turkish Ministry of Education) they make a big deal out of "national goals" and for students to make their part in reaching these goals. In ROC(leftist state and society) schools try to hide alot of history to create false impression of partnership between Greek and Turkish Cypriots in the ROC and this is one of the founding myths of their state. Alot of Greek Cypriot society still hinges on the belief of re-integrating Turkish Cypriots in some solution to the "Cyprus problem". I am glad I am not from the spineless(even compared to leftist Greece) Greek Cypriot society.

Los M, dont you think this kind of attitude is unnecessary?

back on subject the Myceneans (from southern Greece) were the the first Greeks who settled in Cyprus and subsequently Hellenized the Neolithic peoples already living in Cyprus who were originally from the Levant ( modern day Palestine, Syria etc).

so ancient Cyprus was somewhat unique, a kind of Near Eastern/Greek fusion, and that can be seen from ancient Cypriot statues which had Near Eastern/Assyrian/Phoenicean influences, f.e. statues of bearded men usually included the beard and hair being cropped.
