| Bulgarian military couple caught photographing Greek army sites 29 August 2008 | 00:02 | FOCUS News Agency Athens. A Bulgarian couple serving in the military was convicted of espionage in Greece on Thursday after being caught taking pictures of Greek army facilities near the border with Bulgaria, officials said, AFP reported. The Bulgarian officers were arrested at the border town of Ormenio on Monday after being spotted photographing an army camp, a Greek military source said. A digital camera confiscated from the couple was found to contain pictures of several military installations in the area. A judge in the main outlying city of Orestiada sentenced the unidentified couple, aged 36 and 35, along with their 46-year-old Bulgarian driver to 15 months in prison for espionage. All three are appealing the sentence and were set free pending trial, a local judicial source said. The officers claimed they were tourists and intended to publish the pictures in Bulgarian military magazines, the judicial source said. |

| Hardly. Getting caught spying on greece tends to be a one or two month prison sentence affair, hardly a death sentence by any means. |
